MARCH AGAINST WALL STREET TODAY 12PMPosted: June 22, 2011
Bloombergville is proud to be participating in today’s march and rally to MAKE WALL STREET PAY organized by National Nurses United.
Starting at 12pm at Federal Hall (Wall Street and Broad Street) across from the New York Stock Exchange, the event is part of an International Day of Action to protest Wall Street and global financial speculation.
National Nurses United — the country’s largest labor and professional organization of nurses — has organized the march as part of their “Heal America, Tax Wall Street” campaign for a financial transaction tax on Wall Street to solve the country’s budget problems. Or as we would put it: Make Bankers and Millionaires Pay!
In a sign of the impact we’re beginning to have, two residents of Bloombergville will be speaking at the rally at the invitation of the organizers.
Join us as we join others! While Wall Street has record profits, a subway ride on the 4 train takes you to the Bronx, one of the poorest counties in the United States. Imagine what more cuts to city services will do? Come support our speakers and let your voices be heard. Let Wall Street know we’re done with their irresponsibility and excess.
