FRANCES FOX PIVEN SPEAKS AT BLOOMBERGVILLE 6PM

This evening in Bloombergville please join us for a talk and discussion with activist, sociologist and historian, Frances Fox Piven.  

Dr. Piven, Distinguished Professor of Political Science and Sociology at The Graduate Center of CUNY, has studied political activism and left social movements for more than 40 years.  She is the author of several important works, including (with Richard Cloward) Poor People’s Movements: Why They Succeed, How They Fail and the recent Challenging Authority: How Ordinary People Change America.  

She will be speaking on Social Movements and the Prospects for Resistance Today.  And we’re thrilled to welcome her to our sidewalk university.
